Yes, the car will show you what is in the MP3 player not what is live streaming. I use TuneIn but the display only shows me what the MP3 player will play (if and when HTC feels like playing ball).

You can't control Spotify from car as it simply plays the track you select on your Spotify app on your smartphone. However, you can scroll up and down the tracks of your selected playlist by using the arrow buttons on your steering wheel. The name of the track playing is shown on car screen. Once you have finished the last track on your selected playlist, it will start again from the beginning of that playlist.

If you have multiple playlists you will always have to select the playlist you want to listen to from your phone first. It would be great if you could see all your playlists but this functionality isn't available (yet)!

NB. I recently updated the OS on my smartphone to 4.4.2 (kit kat) and as a result have lost some of the functionality of media streaming - it is now quite temperamental and sometimes refuses to work but then will often just choose to work when it feels like it! Also affected by poor phone reception at times as my playlists are being streamed as I haven't got round to downloading them again since the last spotify update scrubbed all downloaded tracks.

As a Senior Citizen I know nothing about Spotty or Pimply or ?

I just have the basic kit, but it plays music from my iPhone 4s ( iOS 7.1.1) via Bluetooth, controlled by car, with tracks displayed on screen.

It also plays audio on TV progs - no picture but better than nothing.

Telephone service, dialling, contacts etc etc all good, better than any hands free 'in car' phones I've had over the last 20 plus years.

Thanks for the help. I have noticed that the first track played from spotify is the only track that is shown. I cannot jump track at all.
