Has anyone else spotted the two 245s (1 red, 1 yellow) from the train just after Waterbeach station when heading from Cambridge to Ely? They seem to be used as sheds in an allotment!

There's also a 145 rotting in a field just south of Great Shelford which you can see from the train on the Cambridge to King's Cross line.

Actually 3 245s in the town on Monday - first off was a white "G-plate" GL that I don't recall seeing before, then a dark blue "H-plate" GL or SE and finally 2 sighting of the same "T-plate" dark brown DL model.

Spotted a faded yellow 244 on an X-reg at a petrol station on the edge of the city of London late last Sunday eve.

Looked pretty tired with dents, rust and filler here and there but quite dignified somehow.

I saw Alan Sugar's Rolls Royce (AMS 1) in the same spot a couple of years ago.

Thsi afternoon, I saw a 1977-1978 245 on an 'S'-plate in beige, with lots of primer on the lower doors on the A11 heading from Newmarket to Thetford. It was travelling too quickly in the opposite direction for me to get any more details than that, but I got very excited indeed!

These today, whilst I was hunting

The estate was a D24 & the saloon on it's far side was a B230f or B200f

Paul this is to post about alive ones. They looked quite good, I bet it was the D24 that died.

But at least they give their parts to keep others going

Hi Paul,

Where I live in Ireland I have not seen a 240 I think it could be partly to do with the high motor tax rate. 895 euro a year on my 2,3l When I lived in Normandy I used to see the odd 740/940. I would love to see a 240 in Kerry.

I pass 2 parked Torslandas on my daily drive to work in Aberystwyth, both off-road and having that look that says there is a problem.
One I know (silver grey) has failed its MOT but is too expensive to repair. I left a message with the local garage that I would be happy to advise, but he isn't interested.

The other, red, was running until a few months ago. Similar problem I suspect.

I pass a nice early blue estate (round headlamps) on most days going home, but we never wave. 240 owners don't wave in Wales, perhaps because most are just working cars, not collectors' items.
