Default S60 problems!!

Hi all, I recently bought a 2000 S60 2.0T.

I took it for a long test drive and the only problem was a knocking from the driverside wheel, that didn't worry me too much so I bought the car.
Within a week of ownership, bad things started to happen!
Driving with the STC on caused a horrible grinding/scraping noise especially on left turns, when I disabled the STC it stops!
Also, when I set off in first or reverse, there is a loud trumpet sound!!
Anyway, I took it to an independent garage and they checked the whole car over and left me with this info:

DTC ABS right front sensor fault, abs ring snapped
Suggest tracking adjusting
Knocking noise from OSF shocker/Top mount
Clutch release bearing noisy

They said that you can't just replace the abs ring as the drive shaft's swell, so a new drive shaft is required, has anyone had to replace the full drive shaft here or is it possible to just replace the ring?

And the trumpet sound must be the release bearing, I can't help thinking this will be a big job.

I can't believe all this has gone wrong within 2 weeks, I also replaced the NS lower arm ball joint last week and a drop link!
Am I just unlucky or are these "solid" volvo's not so solid?
Any advice would be highly appreciated,

Thanks in advance, Steve.
