I wanted that one but my crazy wife reckons I have enough projects and we don't need another Amazon Estate, told you she is crazy.
Good luck with the build. I spoke to the seller and it sounds like a very good body so worthy of some shiny new paint and chrome. |

So this is a bit of a repeat.....
Multiple forum posts of trailer space available for London to Scotland and I got lucky again.... Got a call from a nice Scottish gent who's mate had just imported an early bay vw camper from California and needed it collecting from clacton on sea and delivering to Gretna - job done Trailer on and on the road again.,,, |

So the short version is....
I set off from London to bedford to clacton-on-sea to Dumfries to Bedford and I returned home with very little sleep, another 1000 miles on the old Beemer, another Amazon estate at the workshop and one eye pointing in each direction..... But it was all worth it, Very happy with the car - I bought it from a top bloke and we had a great chat while we loaded the old girl up and I got it and myself home safe n sound. It was time for some sleep and to formulate a plan for my estates.... |

So
Over the drive home and the days there after I started to make a list of what parts would stay on the blue car and what would go to the white one The white estate would use up a good amount of the spare parts I have around me and I will try to achieve the set goal before winter is upon us.... Ambitious and unrealistic but I have to try The goal - wind up with less spares in my loft and have only one nice amazon estate.... So basically paint and build the white estate with the best of everying I have and tidy up and make complete the blue car and sell it on as a project for someone else First job is to strip the white estate down and start on preparing it for paint, the body is in fantastic condition with only as few small areas needing repair, the wings are good - the doors are going to take some time to get right..... But, for anyone who has self painted before - the hours and hours a full paint job swallow up, it just seems endless..... First - strip down Last edited by Andy the Aussie; Sep 2nd, 2013 at 08:09. |

Sounds like a good plan. The white one does look like a good one so a good idea to put the best bits on her and keep her. I've only started spray painting but the prep and finishing eats away so much time but it will look great when done.

Next,
Prep the inferior for full paint, Scrubbing, wire brushing , kurust, zinc primer, sanding, seam sealer (got a mate in for a bit of hard labour that he owed me for doing an engine change on his 330d - by the end of the second day his arms were giving up so we put him on BBQ duty) Fuel tank stripped out and the interior is ready to get into primer and hit it...... 2k high build beige primer Primed..... |
