If its just in one spot you could probably clean it up with brake cleaner and go over it with black gasket maker. I patched a rust hole in a sump using this method and it lasted quite well.

Bought the replacement Evo 3 front caliper I need to sort the brakes. Just need discs, pads, clutch kit, effort and time to think about ripping the lot apart for a full swap of engine, gearbox, clutch and brakes.

It might happen........the key is that I've left it in my way so I need to move it out of the way to get into the garage. If I moved it out of the way permanently it'd stay there until I eventually got sick of it t the point I break it for spraes but since its in my way, I'm constantly reminded that I should fix it.

I think Spets meant all the follow on jobs after fitting the calliper would be expensive. A bit like having to buy a pram and baby clothes nine months after nookie, makes the nookie expensive

Ive been putting off the engine and box change but the caliper sticking was the final nail in the coffin. It was either break and crush or fix it properly time.
