Well since I work 6 days a week and get one Saturday off a month, had big plans today today to put the two new rear wheel bearings on to hopefully cure the noises I have been getting, fit the heated seats that have sat in the man cave for several months and a few other bits and bobs...........its ****ing down with rain, YAY and I am not wanting to sit in a puddle outside doing things so went back to bed and had a long lie!

Tomorrow looks to be better weather so will get some of the jobs done then hopefully, even just the bearings so it stops the noises and can go for a decent drive at least and not worry about anything bad happening.

Stress test on slow leak from osr tyre/wheel. Went flat in 2 or 3 weeks. Still, as winter spares, it's not a major problem. I carry a compressor.

Almost got around to fitting various bits, but was raining, so went to Parcel Force Huyton to collect the spare bits delivery from boyracer996.

I better hurry up and fix the 50 series.

It's been a great journey with these cars.

Pop in from time to time as you might be able to help out + you still got a P1?

Default Battery

Car wouldn't start in the very cold weather on Thursday night. Charged it up overnight but when I checked the battery all the cells were very low on electrolyte. The local battery shop, who are very good, said the volts were ok but it was low on amps. So I bought a new battery and fitted it yesterday (Friday). Took the car out today for the first time, and, as expected, had to reset the clock, and the trip mileometer was at zero. But the radio was still tuned in as before! That really surprised me. The battery must have been disconnected for a couple of minutes. Good news though, as on previous occasions it had not only lost the code, but all the station presets were lost.

Of course Druid I will still be here, after all I will still have the P2, plus I will still help out when the need arises.

These cars are old now, so I was always meaning to find another model the diesel has made my mind up for me.

Got the front end of the donor T4 stripped off in prep for engine extraction.

Sadly the intercooler is bent and the top cap is damaged so it's pretty much scrap but everything else looks OK.

In the end though, I bought it as scrap and I know from previous experience that they aren't always as described. It runs perfectly fine but it's no great disaster if the engine is damaged. I have a spare T4 engine in my garage that's a known good runner and I can always swap bits about to build another engine if needed.

Banana intercooler. Better buy another to replace it.

How on earth do you bend a IC without damaging it, are you sure it wasn't made that way?

Well the cars had a front end impact so that could be something to do with it.

I did once have an evo 8 alloy radiator that was cheap Chinese crap and that was shaped like a banana. Worked ok though.

This intercooler is knackered though.
