2016 XC60 T6 AWD R Design Polestar - tempting!
Saw a advert today for a local car with full Volvo dealer service history
2016 Volvo XC60 T6 Awd so a turbo+supercharged petrol VEA engine. Not a common spec in NZ, and i'm not even sure if that spec was available in the UK on the Mark 1 XC60s ? I've attached the advert link below but when the item sells then the link will fail. www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/volvo/xc60/listing/4539231556 The advert includes the full dealer history, and in 210,000km ignoring the usual brakes and tyres stuff I note that they've had a driveshaft vibration issue, oil leak at front of engine, a replacement for a leaking catalytic converter and turtle light (lack of power) issue. The car being the wrong colour puts me off though - I avoid grey and black cars due to their higher propensity to be involved in accidents, due to being less visible. (Check the stats on Google!) Also, I suspect being both turbo and supercharged plus Poletsar possibly makes the engine a bit more highly strung and liable for expensive problems as it ages...

It's an eight year old car. The GPS on satnav is not working, surely more work than a map update. It has a claimed full service history but no service invoices. It's in New Zealand where a fair chunk of the road network is unmetalled, what is it like underneath ?
Any proof of supercharger rebuild ? Most manufacturers recommend an overhaul around 100,000 miles. Don't know if Volvo has a service interval for SC but again unmetalled roads, lots of dust probably puts the car in arduous use category.

Unsealed roads
Thanks for the feedback, and interesting about the supercharger maintenance / overhaul aspect.
Whilst 40% of NZ roads are unsealed they are now really uncommon and mainly minor / alternate routes. All the state highways are sealed except for one tiny portion of a few km and it is rare to find unsealed roads with any significant usage. Last time I was on an unsealed rd was a couple of years back visiting a farm located on a back road. In general all roads between towns on the map are sealed roads. I recently did a 2000km trip to some remote parts of the South Island NZ in the XC60. (e.g. Slope point, lowest part of the South Island where my wife's family were original settlers and planted the famous wind blown trees - Google Slope Point trees) and even in these isolated parts the road were all sealed. To me personally the grey colour of the car is a deal breaker so I won't be proceeding. (If it had been white i would be booking a test drive !)

Nice looking car. Personally, I like the grey. Think it suits it perfectly
However if I was having a T6, it would have to be the inline 6 although I don't know how they compare for reliability with the VEA
