Default V60 5 pot diesel 2 litre 2013

Had a warning on the dash a few days back for "engine service required."

No turbo when hot. EML came on after a few more miles. Code reader said it was a turbo boost problem. Cleared code OK.

Once cooled down normal service resumed as far as the turbo was concerned.
Then it happened again but with no EML ..

Read the code and it's a maf sensor air flow problem apparently.
Cleared that off and all seemed OK...until this morning, once the engine is "hot" the turbo is off on holiday and the dash message is up again but no EML.

There is a slack pipe connection leaking oil on the air intake, the "heater nipple unit" ...taken that off to clean all but now wondering if that is the problem, drawing air etc in or if there is a boost control unit..can't see anything to resemble that on the engine / intercooler...

Need a pic really of the sensors, boost control locations on this 5 pot 2 litre engine...

I am still learning on this new to me engine but can anyone help please ?

Boost-control-valve.jpeg

Boost control valve looks like this. It is located on the back of the engine behind and below the oil filler cap with blue and orange cables in the connector - D5204T2 engine.

When mine went it was showing the opposite effect of yours. Turbo going on holiday with a cold engine. Drive a mile or two come off the throttle for a roundabout, come out the otherside, nothing. No EML, no warning lights on my car when it happened. Switch and restart would reset it to begin with though after a period of time this became less effective.

When I did mine I took the top bolt out and just backed the bottom one off. The two retainers on the unit are open ended so the unit can be slid up and off.

I put a Pierburg replacement unit on, it's been fine for about six or seven years that it's been on. Cost about 120€. Best to get it confirmed before throwing parts at it though, check the pipework out.

Thanks for the insight.

Is there enough slack in the pipes and wires to lift it up to enable releasing the connections?
I have also been told that there may be too much oil in the sump although it is on max according to the electronic level. Oil from the heated nipple apparently..

I don't remember the car fighting me with the pipework when I did it.

My car has only been serviced by Volvo or Volvo specialists. After each service, the electronic oil level has always been at 3/4, never showing 4/4. Never had any issues with DPF, regen or EGR valve. Local HU (MOT equivalent) showing a smoke value of 0.01 from a max allowable number of 0.53.

I have cleaned up everything I can find, replaced the Volvo hose clips on the nipple heater as that was where the oil seemed to be coming from, slack pipe, a load of oil under the alternator too. Drained off about 3/4 of a litre from the sump and put a new sump plug in there whilst I was at it......

Will test drive again and see what happens.
