Default Help with V70 Rear Suspension

My 2001 2.4 V70 Estate can take a maximum tail weight of 75kg but my caravan has a nose weight of 90kg.

I obviously need to upgrade my rear suspension.

First of all is it possible?

And has anyone any suggestions as to where to source the appropriate shock absorbers/springs to increase the volvos maximum tail weight?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I used Grayston spring Assistors on my V70 and use them on my S60 and found them very effective.

Do you mean that your caravan's recommended nose weight is 90kg, or that you can't get it below 90kg?

If the recommended nose weight is 90kg then I'm not sure on the next stage... sorry!!

Your caravan only has a nose weight of what you set it up with.
If it is loaded correctly then the nose weight can be 75Kg.

And NO under NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER should you place a greater load on your tow hook than the manufacturer recommends for the car.
Do and you drive without insurance and if something happens to the car the fault lies with you...

So, no upgrading your suspension is not the answer!

So what caravan do you have (make, model, year)??

i was gonna say id be more worried about the tow bar then the suspension and if its a big caravan then you should be able to adjust the axles forward (thats how my dads works anyway)

Hi. If you have not already done it. I am in the process of doing it. The kit from volvo for the selfleveling costs £650 +. I have brought mine from a dismantler. You need shocks coil springs +antiroll bar.
Regards tony

You are supposed to load the caravan to get a nose weight of 75kg .... What does the caravan handbook say about nose weight and the 95 kg?
