Thanks JB

Ive plugged these LEDS into a 12v adaptor and they are nowhere as bright as the current LEDs, probably a similar level to the prisms I had on.

I will need to try them on the car to ascertain if these are the ones im putting on. They are certainly robust and fully weatherproof, just dont have that super bright bling factor... We will see

Thanks for the advice on vertical lights, will try some of these bulbs

Dave they look ok, they do not share the LED type in the advert. I wonder what they are and how bright!

I have a set in a drawer full of different lights and they are pretty bright, like the current LEDS I have.

I didnt use them as I didnt like the chrome surround and they looked a bit flimsy and I have my doubts that they are fully sealed.

Pics attached.

They are not as bright as the current ones (look bright in photo) but Im going to experiment more at the weekend. They are certainly more robust being metal and have proper glass covers, all fully sealed.

Its a shame you cant get to the leds otherwise I may have tinkered with some brighter ones.

That's a shame.
I did consider sourcing a shell to put the black strip in but rather impossible really.

Your Philips daylights look a little like the cheaper Ebay items mentioned yesterday, how different are they other than the fitting kit?

They are pretty damn good quality, robust metal, certainly not cheap (the photos are a let down I'm afraid) and fully sealed whereas the other units with the chrome surround are cheap plastic and dont look properly sealed - probably wont last.

I'm going to 'trial' them at the weekend, if Im not happy then maybe I will look at breaking the seal, the glass fronts looked like they are glued in so perhaps can access through here, get to the LEDS and then 'tinker'..we will see I may just leave them well alone.

will keep you posted.

Ive now butchered the fog inserts with a sharp stanley knife, cuts through the fogs with precision like cutting through butter. I just need some black sealant around the unit to finish off once the inserts are back in the bumper. They actually fit quite snug between the horizontal fins.

The lights will then be installed with the fog inserts adjusted for the best position and the brackets screwed up into the bumper with also the double sided tape they provide.

Some pics, they don't look that bad after all.

Hi Jonnie,
is that a duvet that you're resting your grille on?
Surely your missus has not kicked you in to the garage just yet!!!!!

Nice job by the way!

Have a look at ebay item: 130441228438
I've asked they guy if he'll ship to the UK.....watch this space but the Hella units cost even more than the Philips so no chance really!

I am considering sourcing some fogless panels instead and going down the route of no fog lights and tapping in to the fog light circuit so I can manually control the DRL's, just wild ideas, will be another week before my painting is finished.
4 coats on now some minor work before one more coat and then lacquer....can't wait.

Ah so thats what your up to!

Lol yes it is a duvet but not sleeping in the shed just yet!

I will take a look at that Ebay item.

Good idea with the fogs, how often do people use them anyway?

Ive looked at the Hellas before but they are far too big I think, and cost mega bucks but are good looking units.

Bet you cant wait to get it finished, its good to see progress and very rewarding.

Ive had a few issues with my Parrot and need to find a switched power source and constant power source in the car, is the spare connector in the boot a permanent supply do you know and how do i tap into the ignition or a switched power source?
Cheers
