Default Space saver wheel....???

Is it possible to have a space saver wheel in the S60 T4 ?? I ask because I've tried to fit the space saver from my 2015 V70 and it don't appear to fit. I wonder if there are different packings in that area which need changing over. A tube of gunk in no use if you rip the tyre on the potholes we have around here.
Cheers
Bob

I had this same quanumdrum (sp?) in my V40.

They don't provide space for a space saver wheel because instead you have the tyre gunk kit. Complete waste of time if you ask me.

The only way was to buy a two-level floor loader which allows space for an extra wheel, I imagine it is the same with your V70.

Have you tried to fit your V70 space saver on the V60 wheel hub, I am sure I read threads on here saying that they will not fit. Best to try before you end up stranded.

That's good to know. Not tried to fit it - assumed it would fit, its my daughters car, and she says its on 17" wheels which I took on faith, but when we tried to fit the space saver from my V70, it would not fit the space saver space. My V70 runs 17" wheels, so I did not querry when told the S60 also ran 17".
What I've seen on ebay for 2018 reg S60's are 16" wheels (T125/85 R16) so they might fit in the SS space, but I'm unsure if they are correct for the car.
If push comes to shove I'll fit the wheel in some sort of bag and leave it in the boot.

Getting stranded is not good, when it can be avoided.

Cheers

So first things first, is this definitely a new shape S60? I am pretty sure new shape S60 was only available as a T5. This forum is for new shape S60.

Secondly you.are putting the cart before the horse here. The single most important question here is "does the wheel fit on the outside of the car" - preferably on the front of the vehicle where the disks are bigger. Then worry about whether it fits inside the car....

....
Now that you mention it I think you are right... I remember thinking at launch how did they get that level of power from 2 litres when it took 2.3 litres in my T5..So although a 18/67 reg S60, it may not be this forum section S60... I need to check with my daughter... I took things on face value when she brought it to show it off, and I was alarmed there was no spare wheel.

Valid point too... hence the willingness to place "spare tyre" in a bag in the boot.

Apologies to all, I appear in my haste to have gone off half cocked, and don't have the full story

Default Sorry Guys - wrong sub section

Sorry guys post posted to wrong section. The S60in question is a pre Thors hammer lights version. It is 2018, but last of old style.

Cheers
Bob
