Hi guys.

I've had a bit of clarification on one matter...which unfortunately is going to be bad news for some of you, and I apologise for not getting this right first time and getting your hopes up...

The car display is intended to be for classic cars. This is extended into the "retro" era, with the age limit set at cars manufactured up to and including 1990. We've been able to get a special exception for our stand for cars up to 1995 (perhaps relating to the popularity of the 850 touring cars?), but sadly we won't be able to have anything newer than that on display.

I'm very sorry to disappoint those of you with newer cars who've already put your names down, but it would be excellent to see you as a punter, if you can make it, or at another event soon if not.

I'll pass on information regarding application forms once we're a little closer to the date.

So as I read it ONLY CARS FROM pre 95 are allowed ...in which case they have just excluded the one Volvo "that broke the mould" ...THE C70 !!! (97 / 02) ..

Such a shame as I would have come over ..

Hi Keith,

I wouldn't debate the appeal of the C70 for one moment...we had one in the household until recently...

...but they want classic / retro cars! Unfortunately it seems that that's the majority of what's available.

Bump.

My contact at the air show has been in touch to say that they're willing to relax the rules and allow cars up to 2000 after all. So...if you'd like to bring your car (up to 2000) along, whether you've been in touch already (and been given the bad news), or not, you'd be most welcome. The only stipulation is that we don't have more than 2 of a particular model on each day. I suspect that few people will want to bring their car for both days, so if we have a lot of interest from owners of a particular model, we probably just need to stagger them across the two days.
