I got the service package thrown in when I bought my last XC60 never paid a penny with this car or my last car.

Many thanks, Tickedon. The test car was in fact a D2 and not a T2 as I had written.
Nevertheless it was a very nice car so I am looking forward to my V40 T5. I seemed to have ticked most of the option boxes, with the exception of TV in the back! Villarsch |

The way to beat this is simply to get a drive the deal price for the car and extras you want. If they won't match it, go elsewhere! A local dealer will likely match, if not, just order via drive-the-deal and be happy with your thousands saved

I wouldnt buy a car without an extended test or at least a few hours.
Shop around may require a dealer who has one as a demo of course but also enquire if you can hire one for the day (or week) after all its a significant purchase, if you could rent the house you are seriously considering buying for a week before hand a few hundred quid well spent. |

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your replies, I've been so busy I've not had chance to check the forum for a while. I appreciate all your feedback, I may even go for the D2 diesel now, given that used prices have dropped quite a bit on this engine and resale in the future should be easier. My annual mileage might increase soon so it may be a good buy. An extended test drive or weekly rental is definitely a good idea, I've searched Google for potential rentals but nowhere seems to offer a V40 for rent. I think I'll contact a few dealerships. Thanks again, Andy |

Affinity = £21936 (by my calculation) with free paint Drivethedeal = £22091 (including metallic paint) So a small saving if you qualify for affinity, or a bit extra if you go pearlescent. Interestingly, this suggests we (VOC) qualify for affinity, and this is a very keen XC60 price! More or less equal to what the affinity price should be once you take into account the finance contribution (though clearly if that's an extra that Volvo provide, we should get it on top...): http://www.volvocarscambridge.co.uk/...&modelId=14278 Edit 2: Just checked and those are the prices now available to VOC members! So should be easy for plenty of folk on here to get them
