Thank you to Martin, I was pleasantly surprised you beat all the comparison websites quotes overall and more importantly meant I could finally leave my multicar dependance with Admiral. The clinching deal where the money was saved was on the Renault Megane (£144) though not the Volvo at (£265) ; ).

It has come to our attention that some forum members think Chris Knott is linked with one of the other insurance providers out there because a name similar to ours appears against transactions on their bank statements.

So we wanted to make it clear, for the avoidance of doubt, that there is NO commercial relationship between us and any of the other providers on car club forums.

Actually there is good natured competition between all the providers on the forums and we come across each other often. Disappointed by this. Spoke to someone on the VOC stand at NEC this weekend who advised me to try the VOC Chris Knott insurance scheme.

Just rang for a quote.

Can't go on a classic policy because:
- it's not stored in the garage;
- it has modifications (stainless exhaust & 850 wheels);
- it's used for commuting to work (not business use);

Can't give me a competitive quote on standard policy because:
- I have no NCB as all of our cars are classics (which are all claim-free);
- Standard policy would be £500+ so no point anyway;

So, unfortunately it looks like I'll have to go back to Footman James for another year - who have taken "Drive other cars" OFF my policy and charged me an extra £50/yr for the benefit!
