Default V40 cross country road noise

Hi,
I have a 2018 V40 Cross Country T3 petrol automatic that's covered 22k miles.
It appears to feel every bump on the road. Is that normal?
There is also quite a lot of road noise and I have noticed at low speeds there is a low dull repeating sound. Is that caused by the twin exhaust?
I've been told the wheel bearings are fine but in comparison with my previous 850 and V70 the ride is a lot less refined?

Is it a noisy car?

Thank you

I would have thought that the 850 and V70 you had would have ridden a lot softer, unless they were the sporty models. The V40 is a sporty hatch.

Realistically you can look at wheel size and tyres. If it's on 18 inch wheels maybe you could move to 16 inch. If it's on sporty but stiff sidewall tyres, perhaps you could look at softer compound tyres?

My V60 was a bit too crashy for me, so I changed the size and read lots of the online reviews. I actually ended up with much cheaper tyres than I normally buy, but they are quieter and more comfortable. (Brand is Debica Presto UHP made in Germany by Goodyear). Playing around with the tyre pressures can help as well.

Thanks for getting back.
I had an 850GLE and a V70 140 Classic which had nice rides.
It does have alloys and the tyres are 205 60 R16 V
Maybe that's the reason.

To be honest, with 60 profile tyres and (small for these days) 16 inch wheels, it's probably riding as well as it can. Your free option is to check and adjust the tyre pressures every week and you might find a happy compromise.

When your tyres are due for renewal in the fullness of time, have a look at the tyrereviews website and see who is rating tyres as best for comfort (rather than grip etc).
