The free assist scheme is fundamental to my point being a long time Volvo driver and having Volvo assist for years and then having it taken away.

Don`t get your `point of order` comment at all.

You fail to see what Volvo have done wrong because Volvo haven`t done anything. The safeguarding of their customers interests in preserving their needs was abandoned when the City of Preston was awarded a shiny, new, mega sized dealer called Rybrooks. This did not happen overnight,Volvo had my email address and many others yet failed to notify us of a change in the status quo.Even my service book now missing a VOLVO STAMP is miffed.

When you go onto their website the word Volvo is there 7 times grouped with the other brands they sell and then is missing at the bottom of the page.So this has been edited but clearly misleading when you open the site.
I notice too that it professes to be an AA approved dealer and one of their `promises`is that they will enable you to escalate issues to the AA who will mediate....what a load of cobblers.
from Google search for Volvo dealers near me .......

Volvo Car Dealers | Motorparkswww.motorparks.co.uk › Dealerships ›
Dealership Details

At Volvo Blackburn, Croydon, Gatwick, Horsham and Preston we sell the full range of all the latest new and used Volvo cars with the latest offers. Enquire today.

I want a Volvo tow bar fitted. Preston Motorparks are not Volvo dealers .So with that in mind I will give them a ring tomorrow just to see what response I get.

Yes, interesting. Motorparks Oldham do not say"Volvo" at the top of their welcome page, whereas Motorparks Preston on their front page clearly list Volvo in their alphabetical list of 5 makes sold by them, followed by a detailed description and visual display of each of the first four makes...but no Volvos!

Looks like misrepresentation caused by a very careless update of their website...but still misrepresentation. It's up to Volvo UK whether they do anything but looks like Trading Standards time for the original poster (stevieR)

....and don't forget to take a screenshot of that webpage, and of the Oldham one for comparison! Take it now, before they think of doing it themselves.

Gave them a ring this morning, and in fairness they pointed out that they are no longer able to fit Volvo tow bars. They say fitting is not the problem, but as they are no longer Volvo dealers, it is not possible to install the necessary software.
Although the ads. are misleading, at least the branch is being up front.

I think we all agree that software updates are an important item on any Volvo service.
They confirmed to me that they are not able to access Volvo VIDA, so with that in mind it would be my opinion that they are not able to properly service Volvo vehicles.
A refund of any money spent on that service plan at the very least.

Where is Rybrook Volvo in Preston? I wasn't aware that Preston Motor Parks is an offshoot of Rybrook.
