Thats what I had last night while facelifting the front of the V40...saved a fortune on buying genuine parts.
This is how it was before I got it... ![]() This is it now, looks much better IMO....What do you reckon.... ![]() ![]() Getting into the indicators was the hardest part...just needs silver bulbs now instead of the orange ones ![]() |

Well done! Yes it does go back to the days in the sixties when we modded rather than walleted improvements. It certainly transforms the vehicle. Nowadays we cannot repaint the black background and polish the lettering on numberplates but it does finish the job.

nice job, have to agree that it does transform the car and gives a more agressive look.

I got the silver bulbs fitted and it lost the fried eggs on the front, looks odd but better...
![]() Future mods will be more cosmetic too, clear side position lights, front chin and rear spoilers, front fogs, lowered suspension... I'll be getting some engine detailing done by Clive at Custom Solutions, also rear bumper protector for the recess below the opening. Need to find out for certain what Turbo it has fitted, might be the larger T4 version as everything else is from a T4.... ![]() |

Haha i did that to mine, stripped headlights open and sprayed front bits black with mat black hammerite, did you buy the indicaters or did you find a way of splitting them open.
I also did foglights same but it took 2 days in parafin bath to melt sealent enough to split them open ![]() Oh and get some silver bulbs for front indicater, little things make a big differance

I got silver bulbs yesterday, looks much better...Just need clear position lights now..
I managed to get the lenses off the indicators very carefully with a blunt screwdriver, then glued them back on after painting.. ![]() |
