Default Climair Wind Deflectors

Guys, do any of you have these front deflectors fitted on your V70? Is there anything specific one should be aware of? I tried fitting them but got scared the glass was going to break during the closing-the-window process.

I don't currently have wind deflectors fitted but am intending to in order to stop the rain water running off the roof and onto the window switches every time I open the window to swipe in and out of the work car park!!

All of the ones ive fitted to other cars in the past have been Heko items, and had metal clips to press the deflector against the rubber trim.

I don't fit the clips any more as they make horrible cringy noises when the glass enters them and in one case, the glass wouldn't raise into the clips at all.

Is this the kind of thing you are experiencing with the Climair ones?

It is also the case that the windows may need some assistance to raise them the first time after the deflectors have been fitted, and they should be left closed for a day or 2 so that everything settles.

Hope you get this sorted !

Rich

Yes! But these are Climair deflectors which don't have clips, they just "sit there". But I'm worried I haven't fitted them properly, especially around the wing mirror area, so was hoping to hear from someone who has successfully fitted them to see if there's anything important I should know about.

So the Climair deflectors don't have clips, it's why I got them over other brands. I'll report back once I'm successful!

How many times in a year this happens?

Really small price to pay, as opposed to having to change the cracked door window...

My two-pence, obviously.

The Climair ones don't have clips, and you do have to bend them far more than seems comfortable to fit them. My experience detailed here; www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=307534

By way of an update, I removed them last year, the increased noise at motorway speed was annoying me (I often do 400-mile round trips in a day, may not bother you if you're not doing constant motorway speed)...

Thanks for this!

Out of curiosity, what speed would one need to do to notice the noise?
