Default Extension cable into the passenger compartment

HI, I am looking to winterise the XC90 and am thinking in terms of a tubular heater (60w) in the passenger compartment.
To do this I need to run power to the car, I wondered if anyone knew if there is any holes i can use to run an extension cable and then leave the plug end protruding. (engine bay maybe??)
I remember seeing cars in the US with this for Block heaters but wondered about actual passenger compartment heating?

I had to turn my central heating on this week ;-)

In all seriousness, I haven't found that it needs an extra heater in the passenger compartment...?

Just a thought, but if you had a fixed towbar, you might be able to rig something up on the socket mounting plate so you had a waterproof external plug, that could be connected to an extension lead from the house - the cables would follow the route of the tow bar wiring up through the rubber grommet in the boot next to the battery ?

Be very careful about "modifications" that might affect Insurance cover - especially if modifying to provide an internal heating system -
considering that there is always the potential for something to go horribly wrong and cause a fire !

good thought, I had thought about that but the rating for the cabling wont carry the higher mains voltage.

Pop into a car stero shop that fits high power systems, they are well used to fitting high current setups into cars and will be able to give advice and supply parts.

My old system was capable of supplying 60amps into the boot and had proper trip switches rather than fuses on it and they go much higher than that if required.
