Default Swapping leather seat covers

The drivers seat in my 940 is quite badly worn, but I recently bought a full interior from eBay. I plan to take the passenger seat cover from this interior which is relatively unmarked and put it on my drivers seat. Has anyone tried this before? I'd be grateful for any tips as there appears to be an awful amount of clips underneath!

Thanks,

Thumbs up it's not too difficult!

i recovered both front seats in my 440 and fitted an armrest at the same time. you'll need a pair of side cutters to cut the clips cos there's lots of them and they're very sharp at both ends!! when thats done you can lift the cover up to see the ties that hold the cover in position on the foam seat. these just pull through the holes precut in the foam. the cover can then be removed. refitting is easy cos you'll know what you're doing now. i used small cable ties in place of the metal clips to secure the covers. give yourself about an hour per seat and i'm sure you'll make a nice job. let me know how you get on.

I agree that it should not be difficult. It can help to take digital photos of where clips go as its fun when you have finished, and there's bits left over. You may need to check if the lumbar adjustment will be ok on the wrong side when you transfer covers ( or there may be a hole left on the opposite side if you keep the lumbar adj on the correct side) When you have cover off, check frame for cracks as they are accessable to fix.

Thumbs up ...is the correct answer!

This is great news chaps - many thanks! I'd read the brickboard description and it almost put me off - thought I'd ask here before looking for an auto upholsterer...

I'll give it a go when I get some free time.

Thanks again - much appreciated!
