Heated screens and heads up display...

Hi, and thank you for letting me join your group. My name is Robert... I joined to learn more about the xc60 as I am looking to buy one hopefully before summer. My first question of what may be many is why can you get an xc90 with heated front screen and heads up display but when you ask a dealer way you can not on an xc60 they just say ' volvo say they don't work right with the heating eliminate if the screen'. But they must be OK if they are fitted to the xc90??? Is there a real reason or just cost?? Robert.

It's typical Volvo options lottery. You can get heated windscreens and a head-up display on other cars as well (Nissan X-Trail for example). You will probably find you can get this on an XC60 in Sweden (together with other 'options') but these are not available in the UK. It's just a (very annoying) Volvo tradition.
