Default S40 cat trouble.

So part of my MOT fail was exhaust insecure. Couple of welds on a bracket. Exhaust place kindly did that as a Freeby but also told me the cat is away. £198:00 for a new one. Eeek I don't have that with the money MOT is costing already. Is that the right price or too much? I will fit one myself on the driveway and have seen them online at around £70.
Any ideas anyone?

Justyn

Why don't you just gut the cat and weld it back up but make sure the seam is smooth and up the top facing the floor pan.
