Information
  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Hi just noticed there is an open cubby hole in front of the gearstick in my V40 is there something supposed to be in it?

Depending on your age, either a packet of condoms or a tin of travel sweets; other than that it is up to you what you store there. Volvo left it empty so you could fill it.

I wish I could answer that question, cos every nook and cranny of my filthy, battered and abused V40 is full. We (The boss woman and I) are slowly moving house to an old multi story artillery observation post only a few miles away. So the back seats are folded down and it is full to the roof of rubbish bags that I will need to dump this morning.

My, "Cubby hole", has a small stainless mug on one side and the contents of the other half tends to vary. Some of the sweet tea has leaked out and deposited a glue-like substance at the back and there was a small calculator alongside the mug a few days ago, which along with some half chewed sweets has made the entire area a no go zone.

I don't refer to it as a cubby hole, as it's more like a mini black hole. My daughter even called it the, "Black hole of calcutter", because she was chewing something.

some images ive seen suggest a rubber tray sits in the gap?
