Cleverly angled shots to hide the rot, enlarge the pictures then zoom in.
Front valance rotten nearside door got a huge dent in it Broken nearside rear reversing light lens Rear valance rotten on offside corner The car could be hiding a multitude of sins Edit, thats strange, one pic shows a dent on the door just above and forward of the door handle but it appears to have gone in another picture???? Front valance on any 340 rots, but usually enough metal left to make it treatable and keep chassis integrity.
Can't agree about the dent, I think it's a reflection of the wheel of another car parked nearby. At 6k miles unless it's been in an accident and had rework, it's unlikely to be rotted significantly. Biggest problem I had with ours (H reg, 15,000 miles) was an inner door skin rusted. The boot leaked but that's sorted and the front valance only slightly corroded. But the biggest job was getting the paintwork to a good shine. I used clay bar in the end and it really made the difference. I'd buy this one if we needed another.

The rust at the bottom nearside front wing would be worrying me, if that's gone it's generally a bit interesting behind it.
Definitely one to look at and not punt on blind!

Agreed, that front valance doesnt look nice given the alleged 6k. Infact I'd be wondering HOW it got that rusty with such little time on the road.

do ya know that cars can actually rust even if they havent been on the road , if they were perfect bodywise , then all foggys cars would be perfect.....

Oooooh....you bitch! I'll have you know we unearthed two cars (79 343 DL and 85 360 GLT) at the weekend and they're both in much better shape than expected.
I agree there's a severe risk of a polished turd here. Needs careful inspection, as there's some strange rust on it. cheers James

Almost consecutive reg with one of my old GLT's - probably came from Ray Chapmans at Malton.

That's a nice pair of 300's. I just love the way they seem to... squat on the road, like they're about to collapse.
