No I don't leave it plugged in permanently.

I only tend to bother with the extra dashboard feature when I'm going on a longish run or if I think it's approaching DPF regen time.

I have occasionally forgotten and left it in overnight and had no issues but I definitely wouldn't deliberately leave it plugged in all the time,

You can create custom dashboard views on your phone or tablet using CarScanner app connected using an ELM327. The ELM can be bought for around a fiver and the pro version of the app is about the same iirc. If I'm in the mood for gauge watching I just connect my phone and put it on the magnetic mount (another 4 or 5 quid Ebay purchase) and it looks quite neat mounted landscape just in front of gear lever...

Looking at your first pic, I’m concerned that you’re revving the nuts off it when your coolant is frozen solid, your oil is cold and next to no oil pressure….
