Default Help needed rather badly!!!!

OK, so in recent months I've amassed quite a large collection of bits to retrofit options to the v40, almost entirely through this forum. I've been laid up for a couple of weeks after surgery and today I felt up to a bit of work on the car. Somehow the single key+fob we had for the car went missing last weekend so today I decided I may as well install the cruise control as it came with a different key and relevant modules. (mines a diesel).

So.. Shouldn't be too hard right?

Argh..

So the car looks like this now...

Eeep... So since I had to pull it so far apart I figured it was the best time to splice in the other bits and bobs, like the climate control and the info centre. However I have now hit a snag. I have no idea where the sensors are meant to go..

When I picked these bits up from Gatos many months ago he did show me where they were meant to go, but I got told so much info that day I just couldn't absorb it, I've been trying to PM him but his inbox is full. The plugs were all there, but I'm also wondering what happens with the bit circled in purple, that plug has been replaced with a sensor plug and it has two yellow wires that seem to just lead into the heater box, can I ignore those?

And then, there is one of the modules that came with the cruise control bits.

Where does this live?? I can't find it anywhere to replace it.

So can anyone help me out with the location for the sensors and the location of that module? I know I'm not going to have the thing back together in time to get to work on tuesday, but I do need to get it sorted as I have visitors from Australia in a couple of weeks and I'll need the car back together....

Of course then I need to try and figure out where the amplifier wiring goes!!!!!

I am just a basic diyer but that looks quite daunting-- having said that -

I did think that after looking at any car engine before I started my diy` ing and now I kinda recognise most things more easily

maybe someone on here will be able to guide you
there's a few on here who appear to be able to disassemble a whole car and stick it together such that it is better then it was when new . good luck

Mine Gott!
So the Druids are suggesting turning the OP's car into a minature Turkish bathhouse ??

All the OP needs to do after that non TUV, MOT or LLOYDS approved Mod, it to put on their underpants and start up the sauna !!

Anway, back to the Volvo forum "Funny farm". I would suggest that next time the OP is given a V40 to wreck or set fire to and too much time available to fiddle with it, that they avoid fitting a cruise control unit, or a burglar alarm in particular.
No one here even seems to have the wiring diagram download. The one in Haynes has more errors in it than the average company tax return. Wire colour codes in particular.

OPee:
"Indy, why does the car smoke so" ??

Indy Driver:
"Ahhh, why is it always those forum wiring bugs, I don't have a code reader to put them out and the burglar alarm just locked me in" ?

Local Peeler:
"Evenin all, can I see your papers please" ?
"Fankyou and next forkin time you have to call out the Red-Brigade and us Boys in Blue, I'm gunna write you up for forked rear brakes and suicidal wiring tendences"!

(C)TRH in FDH, for BBC 2.

And after that diatribe, maybe someone has something constructive to post!
I hope you manage to get something sorted out and I'm sure you'll get there with a little help from someone who wants to help rather than criticise.

Tee hee, but does the op have a TUV approved phone or computer to contact him on?
On a more serious note, it's a good job this section has the likes of Gatos and others on here to get us out of our little pickles!

I don't think it is the cem, it looks very different to what I think is the CEM in mine. And I'm not too worried about getting it all back together, I just simply do not know where the sensors have to be fitted...

For the helpful posts thanks For the others, even the pain meds given to me after my surgery didn't help me male any sense of them!

I guess I really really need to shine a cat shaped searchlight beacon on the clouds and hope for Gatos to arrive

of course its the ecu.but i forgot where mine went.dont forget the first thing you want to do is re-pad all around the air vents.otherwise it will take longer for your windscreen to clear.hope your matrix was working alright(no leaks)... on the right in the first picture is a blue connector,re-connect that first.
