Default Radio adapter

I've ordered a Blaupunkt Skagen radio for my turbo brick, it seems it will need a converter to make it work, but there doesn't seem to be much choice online. Found this, it's quite pricey. Any recommendations as to what to get/where to look? Cheers!

Found one on eBay for 10. Will post an update when I sort it out!

If your existing radio uses an external amplifier (a lot of the head units on 940s do) you might find the process of accessing the post-amplifier speaker wires quite involved.

It is nicer for subsequent owners if you try to leave stock wiring harnesses as intact as possible. Just saying, as you may find there is more to this than just plugging in an adapter.

Good luck.

Thanks! Will keep that in mind!

Quick update.

This is the adapter I got:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182240547207

Luckily, it was plug and play. The only part not matching was the old radio's fascia. The opening is too narrow. I fit the new radio into the slot without the fascia. I looks ok, but there's a slight gap left, so will have to 3d print something in to fit in there.

Other than that, the radio works great. The bass seems a bit quiet, but it's not too bad. I got a Blaupunkt Skagen and probably will fit in an under-the-seat sub.

Glad it went well.

You can buy after-market fascia surrounds, such as:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284103487498

I've no direct experience of them as I've always just kept the OEM radios.

You know there is the option to change the equaliser settings don't you? IIRC there are 4 or 5 built in options. None of them give the same warmth or range as the OEM radio tbh, but one of them will be acceptable.
