Default Wipers stopping intermittently

Wipers on the xc90 were stopping then starting again a short time later. Once they stopped mi way on the screen.Rear was working fine and the water jets still operating. I did have an issue with the jets a few years ago but cleaning the fuse seemed to sort that. Has anyone had this issue with wipers before? First port of call will be cleaning the fuse. I’m assuming it’s a dodgy connection somewhere and as only intermittently stopping going to be hard to know if sorted.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated 👍

Sorry - no specific knowledge but relays sometimes respond to a sharp tap with the handle of a screwdriver.

Otherwise they are easy to swap out either with a spare new one or possibly one from another circuit on the car.

Good Luck

Cheers

Yeah👍 Does anyone know which relay it is? Handbook gives fuse locations not relays. When they stopped working earlier I hit each relay a whack and they started working so assumed that was the correct one, but I’m not sure!

Found a relay diagram online but doesn’t fit with the layout. Does anyone know which one does the wipers? There only seem to be two main types relay, 9441160 or 9441166

Hi, it may be worthwhile swapping a few relays that have the same part number. Note there are more relays in the cem and rem.

This is how I fixed my problem.

Hope this helps.
