There were not alot of xc90’s here. We actually have a tesla aswell. We got it in late 2015, before they put taxes on in 2016.
The D5 inscription is starting at 1.125.000 Dkkr and the T8 starts at 1.354.000. Totally insane! We actually live in Aarhus and know a few in Risskov nice place. The tax was actually 180% just a few years ago |

I don't know if it still holds true but I remember one of the advantages of the system over in DK, particularly if you were self employed, single, or at least didn't have kids, was you could choose just about any car and class it as a commercial vehicle and tax it as business expense. You would often see painters and decorators or window cleaners driving around in two seater Porsche Cayenne turbos or two seater Range Rovers. They used to have a different colour number plate to private cars, most of which were beaten up old VWs, etc.
Even now, new hire cars in Denmark can only be rented out to 'Foreigners' until they reach a certain age or mileage before they can be rented out to Danes, otherwise the hire company gets charged the high purchase taxes as well. |
