Will it now be able to pronounce the letter 'A' correctly? I don't know why mine doesn't, as the one I had on a hire car while mine was being worked on pronounced the 'A' properly.

Ours doesn't pronounce the A properly either, i have just updated all the maps and then they bring another one out a few weeks later, when are they going to stop this as i have lost count in the last 6 months i have done the update.

You actually bother installing every update?

Once a year at service time is surely often enough. The world's roads are not terraformed and redone every couple of months. I've got sat-nav systems that haven't been updated in five years and when they meet a new road layout, I just follow the signs until I get back to a previously mapped old road.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I now only do a full update about twice a year, prior to driving outside the U.K.
Some changes in the road networks have taken place in the Netherlands, Belgium and in and around the local France/Luxemburg/Germany areas.
Other than that, I just update OTA North West Europe, every now and again.

Yesterday, after the failed update for Voice Command, I checked for an OTA update for NWE and none was available. Version 1230 seems to be the latest?

The same thing happened when I tried to uograde.
The car had a software update at the dealer in august, but neither maps or voice control
were updated. I updated maps myself, but voice-control is still the original version from june 2017.

Looks like the download version now matches the version on the web site for Voice Control


though I have not actually tried the voice update in the car yet. will see what that brings tiomorrow

Initial tests on the default system as supplied (yet to check the version/apply update) was dreadful - the interpretation of the address given was not even close - now I'm not the greatest orator - but really it wasn't even close. When it tried to find a new road called "Cancel", I nearly gave up!

Is there a defined/preferred way of giving an address?
Currently I've found the road and city only (no numbers) works best - and speak quite slowly (much slower then Google/Alexa).

Then give, when prompted, the house number.
Even that works best as individual - Four Three, not forty-three.

Definitely need some work!
