V70 Interior Lighting - Canbus - Help Needed
Hi all
I bought some canbus interior LEDs on Ebay for my '03 V70 which look incredible but... 1) they remain on permanently when the car is running (albeit dimly) which is quite annoying and 2) a previous post on the topic indicates an electrical feed to them may always be live and as such slowly draining the battery (no idea if true or not or only when car is on, sounds like the latter to me) Can anyone advise where I can get some LEDs which do not remain on permanently when driving? Issue of resistance I believe. Preferably not a ridiculously expensive set, the price differences seem extreme for a very similar looking product. Canbus or not they seem to have the same always on problem, I have asked a couple or Ebay retailers. Thank you oh wise bunch :-)

Relax! It’s nothing unusual! The current needed to power the led is very small. To solve the issue you need to solder some resistors to the leds. I did it 2y ago and still going! Just google what type of resistors you need for 12v led. Can bus has nothing to do with interior lights. Can bus is just a hoax to charge you more. Any led in any car will become canbus led with proper resistors added. That’s the way of telling you on the dashboard that your bulb is gone.

A while ago I saw a fellow member's car decked out with bulbs from this eBay seller and he had no issues.
4 years on, the same link is still active so that must be a good sign.

Cheers for the links, bought some, we will see! £11 for 10 or something.
Do the dimly lit LEDs drain the battery when vehicle is switched off? Cant see how it would. But that's recorded on an old post on this forum....
