Cabrio roof seam separating
Hi all, the rear roof (canvas) seam on the wife's Golf cabrio is separating. It isn't stitched, only folded and glued, with a backing tape, also glued. I'm at a loss to know what glue to use to mend it- I suspect I'll only get one clear shot at it so need to get it right. It must be a contact/impact glue as I can only just get my hand underneath it to press from the underside, so need an instant fix. Must be a very strong bond as there's a lot of tension at that point.
Any suggestions?? I can only think of Evo Stik but it's potentially v.messy and not sure if it will work on the fabric.... Cheers AG |

Remember fitting a new roof to my spitfire pre-kids (long gone now 😢. Trying to remember what glue fastened it to the header rail, remember it being white when it went on and dried clear. May have been copydex?
You may be better asking in the general or c70 section as there aren’t too many rag top v70s around. |

Good idea- I'll copy it over. Cheers!
