Default Bought XC60 SE 2011

Hi all,

just purchased a private volvo xc60 SE automatic 2011 model D5, with 140k on the clock.

Looking to understand what I should get sorted on it first. It does have service history, with regular oil changes. and can see aux has been done too.

Any tips or suggestions welcome

Cambelt every 108k miles or 10 years, aux belt every 54k miles.

If it's an auto then consider a fluid change. Also being AWD it would probably benefit from a Haldex fluid change

Yes, remove the roof bars unless you need them on a daily basis. Play havoc with fuel consumption.

There isn't a specific negative charging terminal - there are a few earthing bolts on the inner wing near the strut top and parts of the HP fuel pump are accessible just under the engine cover which work well.

+1 for getting the autobox fluid changed (unless done in the last 70k or so) and probably haldex as its done more than 100k

Other than that - if it's running well - leave it alone other then scheduled services.

thanks - have charged up the battery now.

looks like the battery is lower capacity than the OEM spec, so may get a proper one fitted.

Roof bars now taken off.

From what I've heard, the dealers are reasonable when it comes to battery pricing

I got one for the caravan from Tanya batteries, they were quite cheap and quick delivery if you dont have a dealer near.

Also for the roof bars they can sometimes sell quite well, if Volvo branded then they will be Thule.

if you dont have the locks then these can be bought quite cheap as well if needed.

Upon replacing the AGM Battery, be sure that the BMS (Battery Monitor Sensor) is reset.

It can be done using VIDA or watch this YouTube video.

The vehicles charging system needs to know that a new battery has been installed.
