Default 960 Multilink rear damper options?

Hi,

FRF Swansea have just confirmed that the rear self levellers for my 1996 multilink 960 estate are no longer (part number 272209)

Has anyone any ideas? I've heard of coil over conversions, any ideas of a supplier? I'm not too worried about the self levelling function just want damping and leak free suspension.

Currently facing an MOT failure in a month as my o/s rear unit has had it's day and is weeping now... as am I !

Any suggestions welcome,

Cheers

Iain

You sould be on mk2 suspension with that.

I have on my V90 https://www.classicswede.co.uk/Adjus..._17222978.aspx and copes well even with good amounts of weight in teh back.

I should also have the old Nivo I took off the back of mine but things are tight and you need something to keep you going short term

How does it cope with the nose up tail down issue? Yes it is a Mk2, later setup like V90!

It sits exactly the same with 300kg + in the boot

I do also have coilovers up front, they are long length rally ones so not overly harsh. Give good ground clearance and copes very well on farm tracks

Aren’t these the right ones:

I’m never sure of the differences between Nivomat shock absorbers and fortunately haven’t had to bite that bullet yet.

Pretty much £700 to stay with Nivo's compared to £300 to convert to coilovers
