Thin Shims for 940 Buckets
I guess this is a tall order : really want THIN shims to pop into my buckets on an 8-valve 530 head for 2.0 940 Turbo.
I have reseated valves, nicely done but now my shims are too thick for the cam. I do not have the measurements, just want to know if these things are available.

Bump.
I have a nice new head ready to go on : my standard shims are overly thick. Sell me some thinner shims.

I need all eight, thinner than standard ones, as I have 16 standard thickness (all about 3.6mm, all the same) and I'm using 8 in the current head which is going back on,
and need 8 thinner to go in the deeper-set valves head which is sitting here with literally zero gap atop all the lifters. I am happy to try any provided they are genuinely thinner than the standard ones.

OK I will measure with no shims and calculate what I need.
I do believe there is a standard thickness though ... but that's just my opinion based on these two heads lying in my living room. I was just hoping to bypass the Volvo dealers in Carlisle who seem to invent crazy prices for stuff.

This place does the cheapest 33mm diameter shims I could find. Type "33 shims" or something like that into the search bar. They are Fiat or Lancia shims, but being 33mm I believe they are perfect for Volvos too. I'm gonna buy from this site when I get my engine build underway. |

Clan yer right, I found one of my spare shims that's a bit thinner than the others.
I might take my head into Lloyds in the week and see what they have : may be able to measure them properly in right there. Thanks for the link Pete : they only go down to 3.10 on that site ... I suspect I might need thinner.
