In point of fact, the standard injectors for the turbo redblocks run at 300cc/min and that's good for 185bhp at the flywheel (at 100% maximum duty cycle and 3 bar fuel pressure) - not ideal as there is no room for hp increase at a later date.

350cc/min injectors run at the ideal 80% max duty cycle, and 3 bar fuel press are good for 215 bhp, and at 100% = 270 horse.

So, basically, over 350cc is just a waste of time, money and effort unless you're making, plan to make over 270 bhp; and you'll create problems that didn't exist to boot!

BTW, Green injectors run at 465cc/min @ 3.8 bar fuel pressure (over 3.5 is not ideal as it puts undue strain on the standard type fuelling system in general) and are good for 285 horse at the 80% max duty cycle - with up to 355 at 100%

Cheers,

T
i ran 308bhp from standard orange injectors for over a yr and was still going strong

Default injectors

Thanks for the info T240, much appreciated.

I plan to get the car a little over 300bhp in the near future (iv heard the engines good for 350?), mods so far are:

3 inch exhaust
big intercooler and pipework
531 head
a cam
k24 turbo (next week)
960 throttle (next week)
mbc and boost gauge
fuel air gauge
exhaust manifold flowed at the turbo flange.

in the near future (1or2 months or so) i plan on getting a better cam, head ported with big valves and a chip. And then later when i can afford one or have time to make one a exhaust manifold/header.

i would like to think that will see me over 300break, im maybe being optimistic.!

T would it be ok to run with the greens at 3bar for now, maybe giving me around a flow rate of around 380/400cc?

cheers

Hi Joe,

I thought you were normally aspirated.

It's a different set of calculations for turbo.

I'll get back to you in a few hours with something positive, but off the top of my head, you'll need around 630cc/min for 300 bhp - which will rule out greens, even running at 100%

Cheers,

T

Its all about keeping the dcs low and safe.On greens injectors at 300bhp you will be running about 80dc at a guess and on 630cc i think you would be looking at 50dc i would need to work it out on the fuel injector flow chart but thats a guess. You would need a very good map to get the 630cc injectors to run and idle perfectly unless you went after market mangament

thats fair enough but no need for that high injectors for 300bhp i ran standard 315cc and did 308bhp for over a yr with no issues but bigger injectors would be better at least then the injectors are working as hard

just go all out and get 1000cc ones

Yeh t240, iv got a turbo mate, the best way to roll! i would never invest in spending money on a N/A. the tuning possiblilities are way to low low and way to expensive.

630cc for 300 break seems a bit over kill! my evo 6 ran 366 break with standard 560cc's no problem at i think around 80% duty.

465cc greens on a v70r at 3.8 are running 5 cylinders at i believe 260bhp, dont forget iv only got four cylinders so id imagaine these will be fine.

i heard vxr injectors new are only 26quid each at a flow rate of 3 bar so might roll with these.

il let you know samura1 what i decide after i get a definate price from from vauxhall.

is a ton posted(paypal goods) the lowest you will go?
