Default S40 interior light delay alarm sensor switch,

Hello all and thank you for welcoming me into your community.

I have a 2001 S40 18 Sport which I have had since new. recently a bulb that illuminates the panel around the headlight rotary switch blew. I changed all 3 (preventative maintenance) and refitted the panel. At night when I had noticed non of the bulbs were working, I also noticed that the interior lights do not dim when the ignition is on and the doors are closed. The interior light comes on when any door opens, indicating that the switches are functioning correctly. The door open warning lamp also does not illuminate (I have checked the bulb - ok) and the red led on the button for the alarm interior sensors comes with the interior lights, after the car is unlocked.

Yes I do go on a bit, but has anyone any ideas? I think a module of some description has failed to recognise that the ignition is on, yet everything else seems to work.

A wiring diagram if I could obtain one would be useful as I fear that a visit to the dealer could be as much as the car is worth!
