You won't get much out by this method, though, and it certainly won't drain the torque convertor. I've had my car's ATF changed twice by Volvo dealers, each time the job sheet has shown 3 litres of ATF used, so presumably they've just simply drained what they could, then filled. Not too much of a problem for me, as my car's ATF has always looked in reasonable condition, and the 'box performs well. A proper flush / refill is described on the varies Volvo sites, and involves using the fluid hoses and using the torque convertor to actually pump through the new, and pump out the old. Lei Chan |

Use the method in the Haynes manual except you don't have to remove the battery if you raise the car and remove the cover under the engine.
You will need a least 8 litres of DexronIII. or the Volvo stuff. |
