Default Air flow

My wife who was in the front passenger seat today enquired as to how she could direct the cool air onto her from the two front vents. I couldnt get them to direct the cool air to angle more directly onto her even with the vents fully directed to their sharpest angle yet on the drivers side I can get the cool air to flow directly at me when driving. Is this something anyone else has noticed as it seems unusual compared to other cars I have had. I dont like a flow of cool air blowing on me for very long but my wife does and I am at a loss as to why she shouldnt be able to get the air to flow more directly at her but there must be a sound reason.

All you can do is adjust the seat fore/aft and tilt to get into range.
