I would try to find a good second hand one. The back rest cover is quite complicated to remove and refit, so given the time in stripping, mending your cover or making a new one and refitting will be expensive. The seat cushion by contrast is very easy to remove and is a real DIY job to do. The cushion is usually the part that wears and if this is the case a good cushion from a passenger seat will fit - they are not handed as the back rests are. Passenger seats are cheap as they do not get the wear that a drivers one does.

The backrests are handed and cannot be changed to fit the other side of the car. Not least the airbag is in the outside bolster and would be on the inside of the car and useless if it were to be swapped over to the other side.
