Rear audio controls installed.

Hi guys, my 2011 xc90 d5 has the high end audio system.

I removed the c pillar to discover that the wiring loom is installed from factory if you have high end audio etc.

I have installed these and had a play but cant seem to get them to work?

Any fuses I need to install, activate via vida or am I not using it right?

Any one else managed this?[IMG][/IMG]

You require a software download to make them work ... approx £45 from a Volvo dealer, be aware there are two different versions of the controls (maybe more)... pre and post facelift ... if you have the wrong ones the software will load to the audio system, but the controls will not work.

And there is me thinking I could just plug and play 😂😂

Mine is a 2011 and the part no for the control is 8666729 that I installed I believe?

Can I do the update my self with vida? Any guide?

Hi cpu_man, I believe its a dealer only install as it involves a software download ... or that was the case when I got mine done ... the dealer charged me £37 +vat ... as to the version in my 2009MY?, if I can find the box I'll post the part number.

Any more info, I know a guy who works in volvo still and he says he cant find the software to up load etc?

Hes thinking maybe it needs just a audio software reinstall etc?

Any part no to the software?

Hi CPU-man ... sorry I cant find the box ... I know its here but the question is where

Re the software, there is no part number on the invoice, all it says is "Volvo XC90 audio download -SWE" and £37 (plus VAT) ... that was from 2011 ... sorry its all I can find (the invoice for the controls is in the box so cant check that at the moment.) If I come across the box for the controls I'll post the part number.
