Thanks all. Loads of fantastic information.

As mentioned, i'll hopefully be able to get and view the car once the restrictions have eased.

This is the add. What do you think is a good price?

For me a definite no! For that money I'd expect it to have no faults and a good body with no hard to find bumper trims. The tan interior is hard to find parts for and the car looks generally scruffy. I wouldn't want it for 1k

Around 18 months ago I sold my 1989 240GLT auto estate with 4 months MOT with all trims intact and better bodily for £500. It needed a good clean and heater fan doing and other bits but was a sound car. It sold recently on Ebay for £1200 last year. The mileage was 230,000 and drove faultless.

Keep looking is what I would do. I would Also avoid tan interiors! My Black glt interior trim was durable, except door pockets.

We have all experienced 240 recently are more expensive than they were before, not long ago you could buy one perfect example for less than one grand. Now find one for that price...and it’s a bucket of rust.
2.3+ auto + beige interior+ sunroof + low miles it's a nice combo.
Body wise seems ok, hockey trim missing and some Work needed. Sure suspension look tired, so probably will bushes. Need all fluid changed and of course check that rust under the bonnet. At my eyes there is one grand to spend on it to Drive it safely. Rust under the bonnet, depends how long you ll keep the car... I’d pay this example (without seeing it) 1200-1500 and iuse it as much as possible. You’ll not make your money back untill rust is sorted.
Or spend 3/4 grand on a better example straight away...
