Physical Dipstick for 2.0 D4 163bhp (D5204T3 5cyl Engine)

Hey all,

I want to replace the technicians dipstick with a full length dipstick and tube.

Can anyone here supply me with the correct part numbers/parts needed for my D5204T3 5-cylinder 2.0 163bhp engine? It’s in my 2013 S60 II.

I see kits online although I heard there’s about 20 different variants of the D5 and I want to purchase the right one.

All help much appreciated thank you

I believe all the dipstick kits are the same. Happily be corrected if this isn't true

Affectionally known as the “police drip stick”( there’s some irony there somewhere”. Priced at around £70 available from that well known internet auction site.

Got the following parts from my local Volvo dealer, cost around €70

985133 Bolt M7x20 (x1)
31316562 Long Dipstick
31375301 Long Tube with bracket
30637865 0-Ring

Installation was very easy, to make it even easier I’ve got access to a lift so I put the car up and removed the plastic sump guard to get easier access to the technicians dipstick to remove it and also clean out the threads on the M7 hole on the sump.

Simply removed the short dipstick, put down the new one from the top and tightened the bolt with the new o-ring installed.

Note: full level on the technicians dipstick and electronic level sensor equals about 1/2 way on the new dipstick so I now know this for future. (5.9 litres oil)

I tried to fit mine from the top but the mounting bolt was just out of reach.

The very kind service people at Marshall Grantham fitted it FOC when it was in getting its Polestar Optimisation

Ended up only being €55 from my Volvo dealer. Great value compared to the eBay kits costing €85+
