Ideas and fixes pls.
Hello
A friend of mine has a volvo with the famous 1.6 hdi. Last weekend i help him, change oil, filters , all the injectors seals, valve cover gasket , turbo feed pipe, cleaned dpf. Car started perfectly no codes run for an hour no leaks...life is good. BUT................... Maybe when its cold more than its temperature, between 1000 and 1500/1600, it fails, cuts a stutter ( the only way i can explain is when a petrol car is cold and it cuts and then after a certain rpm it goes and once is hot its ok) then at 1700 it pick up and there it goes with no problem. Then you stop in a traffic light and you want to do a calm star and between those rpm does it the same.... Any ideas and what to look for and fix. Many Thanks Last edited by Anubisxc70; Sep 2nd, 2019 at 17:48. |

check the air inlet pipes from air filter to turbo inlet, sounds possibly like its sucking in air and bypassing the maf. I had this issue with my D5, found the rubber turbo inlet hose had gone soft and split where the hose clamp went round it, as a temp fix, put some self amalgamating rubber tape round it to test the theory before spending...yep it fixed it, cured the hesitation and gave better engine control back.
