Ticking noise on idle
Hi S/V 40 fans
I have a 2004 S40 classic SE with 1.8 petrol engine, I have done loads of work on this car including replacing the VVT cambelt etc, I am getting a ticking noise like tick, tick, tick, tick, when the engine is on idle, stops when I depress the clutch, is it the DMF ( Dual Mass Flywheel) on its way out or something in the gearbox. I have no problems with clutch or vibration Any idea's Cheers |

I didn't get any vibration or clutch slip for several miles after noticing this, after that I drove it for a couple of hundred miles before getting it replaced. It would randomly click or bang on start up particularly.
