Excellent guide! I don't have the latch problem but have ordered replacement light harness for the plate lights. The cable on my 2006 XC90 has deteriorated to the point bulbs won’t stay in socket. Cops in the states don't like that. I've been dragging my feet till your guide gave me all the info needed! Thanks!

I set out to do this today..
all trim off etc..

Ive now sussed out though that its not thehandle or cable..
the actuator is goosed. But the tailgate is locked.
I can find no way to unlock the tailgate manually.
What can I do??

I'm one step away from angle grinding the whole thing out to get to the mechanism to unlock it...
surely actuators fail?
Help!

Its another big thank you from me too! Very straightforward given these excellent instructions, tailgate now freshly fitted with some 314L and works a treat.

Have faith in yourself and just go for it. You never know, it may just work out fine.

lol just read this again and it defo hits the nail on the head ...... I am too paranoid about screwing stuff up and getting stuck on the drive way ..... but i have decided to stop paying through the nose at the garage .... given the pay cut its a no brainer now.

Going to do a full service/ rear discs and pads/ parking brake shoes and install the modified adjuster/ take a look at the front track rods/ gearbox oil flush/ Haldex if i have the easy access version.

And then start on the daughters car

Yes I have 9 spare BUT I ordered them from Amazon on a Sunday afternoon and had them the next morning.

If I was doing this again I would replace the spring as a matter of course and have one ready prior to stripping the lock down.
you wouldnt still happen to have any of those springs ....struggling to find any on amazon ?
