Regarding the parking brake, we bought a new manual XC90 Sept last September despite concern that the brake would be an issue. Both I and the wife have adapted to it fine. We find it easy to use and have had no problems with its performance.

20 years ago my parents had a manual Merc 230TE which I occasionally got to drive and I found a similar type of parking brake then a real pain, hence my earlier concern.

Does anyone know if my XC90 (Sept 2010 D5 manual) has a Haldex diff...?

All AWD XC's have a Haldex clutch bolted to the diff.

No FWD 2010 XC90's were imported into the UK as far as I know.

I was refering to the fact it has a now has a different engine, gearbox, chassis and transmission to my 03 model.

Default Xc90 new spec

Hi roy i see your point, still 2401 cc though just extracted more bhp but with less c02 at the cost of mpg it seems, i didn't know the chassis had changed i thought it was on the s80 platform? What do they use now?

Wink Xc90 mpg and tuned

Got a guy round called jason who owns and runs "more bhp"maybe 3 years ago, had him do a couple of volvos I've had, always does a good job, can't answer your question due to 185 engine and the extra fuel it uses for the dpf etc, but would recommend myself for the extra grunt ,mostly torque and so much of a difference when towing up hills, and better fuel mpg.

Bit more than that. I read there were 1800 changes to the 185 bhp Euro IIII engine. The 163 bhp Euro III only shares the the bottom end.

Chassis was changed to accomodate the larger angle gear.

Gearbox was redesigned with 6 gears, mine has 5.

My Haldex is second generation and the latest is fourth.

Default Chassis

Is the chassis a reworked s80 or completely new or off another model?
