Meanwhile, back in the south.....
Yesterday whilst driving south down the A24 near Horsham on the way to my sons as usual I was slowly overtaken by an early-model 245 in a sort of bronze colour BUT the interesting details - RHD but on French plates. Car looked nice but gent driving didn't respond to my wave (I was in my dark blue F-reg GLT lookalike - Virgo's and black trims etc but badged a DL). Not my idea - bought like that ages ago. P |

Didn't respond? Doesn't regard their car as significant to acknowledge other examples? Their car is just a car. It happens. EEK. . |

From a brief exchange of mails with Paul 240480 I doubt it was him as he surely would have flashed or waved. Maybe wrong though, as my car is a tad, er, untidy so perhaps a bit embarrassing!

I never thought it was you Paul. I still wonder if someone followed your excellent example. Buying in England to have the car in France.
I guess the driver is one of those to whom even a modern classic car is just a car. A person having no affinity to acknowledge other examples of the marque and model. Triple. Thank you for the sighting of the early 245. Did you see the headlamp shape? As for tidyness. A tidy car is a pleasure to see. BUT. Books and covers....and mine has attracted adverse comment. |

Didn't see headlamp style - the car sort of crept up on me whilst I was somewhat dawdling down the road considering what I had to do upon arrival. It doesn't need a mobile phone to make a guy switch off a bit! The road was very quiet though. Mind you I do react whenever I see a classic car driving by - just after the 245 a fastback Mustang went the other way then an old Riley RM the other side of my roundabout nearer Worthing.
Brightens up an otherwise dull working day. P |

Posted this in the general 'Spotted' section but re-posting it here where it belongs:
Just caught sight this afternoon of a 240 estate travelling east on the A30 near Launceston. Dark green, with roof-rack and I think the trim was GLT black. It seemed to be overtaking everything, much as I'd been doing when I was travelling along the same bit of road earlier. These cars might be 25+ years old but modern traffic is no obstacle to them! |

Yet another dahn saaf. Whilst driving towards the main road outside Steyning village in Sussex at lunchtime I was flashed by a dark-coloured H-reg 240 estate. He was too quick for me but I did wave back - any body on here?
Mine was the blue 240 estate with the big roof rack. Its nice to live in a county with so many 240s, although very few reply on here. P |

LHD 240DL in Sheffield
Saw a G registration blue 240DL estate on Crookes Road in Sheffield today - particularly notable for being left hand drive. I stopped behind him and gave a peep of my horn and a wave, but the fella driving it just looked very confused in the mirror, so I'm guessing it might not have been someone from here! If it is though, it made me very happy to have my first 240 encounter since becoming a Volvo driver...
