38 with a 2007 Exec, as said before, most people think it is an amazing car when they get in and are quite jealous.
I think the XC90 is the exception to the Volvo rule though. |

I was 33 when I got mine and my wife was only 27 so we are not old. My mate at work would love to get one and he's only 25.

I've had Volvo's since my early 30's (V70's), and now the XC90. I have alway balance the Old Man's Wagon (OMW) with other toy's (1200cc Suzuki Bandit, Lotus Carlton and other toy's).

I bought my first Volvo at the prime age of 22 ... it was a 244DL, with the B21A single stromberg carb engine and 4speed + overdrive .... and I've been driving them + some Renaults (madness in the genes I think) and the odd VW ever since ..... 29 years ... .... never had a cap nor string backed gloves and a pipe!

Why are you worrying what people think, you currently drive a Skoda, albeit with a warmish VW engine, no offence intended. On a more serious note I have had nothing but possitive comments from others about mine. When you look at Volvo`s range, C30, C70, Xc60, XC90 and the new S60, they really don`t portray the image of Volvo`s from years gone by |

What a great thread.
I can't believe I bought ours last year when I was 40, i.e. accidentally confirming all sorts of stereotypes, but it coincided with the 3rd child so became a necessity. Nobody has said anything to me or the wife about the Volvo representing any particular type of customer (maybe the views are expressed in too subtle a manner for me to notice. Could it explain the unexplained Des O'Connor CD I received for Xmas...?). We live in London and there haven't been any 4x4 hate issues and other drivers seem just as willing to let us out at junctions as in our previous car, a VW Touran. 400-ascona: massively impressed you have a Lotus Carlton. Very high on the dream car list. How many car seats can you fit in the back? |

I am 26 and I drive an XC90... I do take a bit of flack from friends but most of them are into quicker things like Evos and M3s, the perfomance is nice on things like that but I prefer to waft along in comfort rather than get out of the car on any journey over 20 minutes and not feel like my spine just had an argument in a hells angels bar fight.
Speed limits are the same anyway, so its not like 0-60 in a millisecond gets you there any quicker.
