Rockingham - Celebrating 90 years of Volvo - April 2017

A quick update from the Organisers:

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to pass on an interim email to confirm that as we move through this Easter weekend, Volvo have started to release a series of clips which officially starts their celebration of 90 years as a car company.

Although we do not have Jacob, Volvo car number one, and the early pre war PV's, we do have at least have one example of every Volvo type committed to the day at Rockingham starting in chronological order with a very rare 444 of the mid 1940's

The list of cars is now just short of 120 on the day, which should make for an awesome group photo, in its self an amazing number for a mid week meeting.

I'm starting to look ahead and every day I look at the long range weather forecast for Tuesday 25th, as it's saying sunny and cloudy at the moment which will do us fine if it stops that way..fingers crossed.

As a reminder please would you arrive for 9am, this will allow us time to get the cars in order, give a safely overview and introduce you to the volvo specialists, the journalist team and most importantly your video and camera car teams.

If all goes to plan, from 10am we can get out onto the track with your cars in set photo groups. There will be plenty of time in between shoots to socialise, eat and drink.

And remember...on the day, try and steer clear of the volvotuning grid girls. They are not great kissers and they do like to grab unsuspecting young men for special cuddles ;-)

With 120 cars registered as attending we've only a few models we haven't covered:

Volvo 164
Volvo 780 Bertone
Volvo S80

If you know someone with the above, give them a nudge and tell them they're desperately needed

I believe a certain Mr Foggy has a 164, but I don't think you would want it there! S80 Phase 1 or 2, or doesn't it matter?

I don't think it matters tbh..either Phase 1 or Phase 2 .

Mr Foggy would be most welcome in his 164 or is there something we should know? lol

Steve has said he may do but needs to sort something on the car first. Fingers crossed. Steve's is a stunning example too
